supported platforms and tools. Binary compatibility is guaranteed with previous csWMPI 1.5.x versions.
New Platforms
- Operating systems: Supports MS Windows and Linux and heterogeneous computations are allowed.
- 32-bit and 64-bit architectures: Supports Intel 32-bit and 64 bit Extended Systems (AMD64) architectures
New Features
- Easy to use: Easier to configure at runtime and easier to install from a central machine.
- Language Bindings: C, C++ and Fortran language bindings support.
- MPICH compatibility: Compile, link and run applications written for MPICH on csWMPI (Linux only).
- Profiling interface: Profiling interface and VampirTrace compatibility added.
- Easier debugging; csWMPI applications can be debugged with the Distributed Debugging Tool (DDT) from Streamline Computing.
Improved performance
- tcp Device: Enhanced TCP performance with low latency, high bandwith and low CPU Usage.
Check special settings for Gigabit Ethernet.
- CPU Usage: Reduced CPU usage in csWMPI while communication is in progress, leaving more cycles free for your application to crunch numbers.
